Michael received his B.S. in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University in 2021. At NCSU, he was part of the Sederoff lab where he helped in plant metabolic engineering efforts. Later in his undergraduate he bean work in the Dr. Erin Baker Lab where he conducted research in ion mobility-mass spectrometry of lipids. He also had the opportunity to discover his passion for metabolomics while interning at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (“Berkeley Lab”) for a semester during his undergraduate degree. Michael joined the Prentice group in collaboration with the Garrett group in fall of 2021.
